DIY Faux Fur Christmas Trees

I’ve been so busy this Christmas season! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get a Christmas post up. (I’m such a sham!) But I’m so excited to share with you my first holiday DIY! I combined this year’s trend of colorful faux fur with Christmas trees!

  • Paper mache cones in various sizes
  • Colorful faux fur
  • Hot glue + hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Optional: tissue paper, tape, pencil, Sharpie, Xacto knife
  1. Note in the supplies list, the last bullet item says “optional.” If you want to make a guide for the faux fur to wrap around the cones just perfectly, here’s how. Using tissue paper and some tape, wrap the tissue paper all the way around cone, until it’s covered. Cut off any excess tissue paper.
Remove the guide so you can trace it onto the back of the faux fur. To do this, use the Xacto knife to make a simple, vertical cut from the top of the cone to the bottom.
Do the same to any other cones you plan on covering with the faux fur.
Using a Sharpie, trace the guide onto the back of the fur. Cut it out.
  2. Wrap the faux fur around the cone, and use dabs of hot glue to stick it on. Cut off any excess faux fur.
